Columbus Arts Council will start the new year with mixed-media and photography exhibits by local artists Joe A. MacGown and John Burrow.

An opening reception will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday in the Rosenzweig Arts Center, 501 Main St., Columbus.

“Interdimensional travels: Drawings by Joe A. MacGown” will be shown in the main gallery.

The artist retired in 2020 as a researcher and illustrator for the Mississippi State Entomological Museum.
