Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air

I know, I know, I explained I’d publish extra of this 1950 Ford COE just over a week in the past. My undesirable, I obtained a little distracted. I’ll reveal why before long. But, just take these extra shots of my penance.

This truck, recognized as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was constructed by it is owner Scott Badger (@keswickscott).

Scott has owned the truck taxi about ten many years now. Matters truly bought likely on the truck about five several years back, with major progress staying produced in the course of the pandemic.

From driving the tilt cab to where by the tailor made four-website link starts off is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Ahead of the front wheels is primarily manufacturing unit Ford with signficant modifications done to make the steering operate at the truck’s new height.

The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo up grade backed by an automatic transmission.

Scott managed to hold as a lot initial as he could, but he did have to change a little bit of sheet metallic listed here and on the taxi. The new additions had been sprayed by Scott in either white or purple.

Scott and his son also made all 11 toes of the bed from scratch.

Practically nothing additional than an English wheel and a Princess Vehicle bead roller was utilized in the mattress building.

In reality, the overall truck was developed in a somewhat humble home garage. Proving once yet again that where there’s a will there’s a way when it will come to do-it-your self fabrication. Some thing that definitely presented a bit of enthusiasm for my own venture.

The tailgate of the truck is really a second COE front close that has been modified to build a tailgate. Scott loaded the grill, built it hinge and took the Tremendous Duty embossing from a late model ford.

“If this isn’t Tremendous Obligation I don’t know what is,” Scott claimed.

For the eagle-eyed, certainly the tail lights are rotated versions from a 65 Ford Mustang, Fairly clever if you check with me.

Naturally, this truck is pretty substantially up my alley and I hope to see much more of it once more quickly.

Ontario is again jamming all over again and I’m certainly right here for it!
