ART EXHIBITS: Watercolor show continues its run at Arts Center East | Time Out
VERNON — Arts Center East in Vernon presents the Biennial Regional Show of the New England Watercolor Society, through Sunday, Oct. 31.
The show, juried and judged by acclaimed artist Anni Crouter AWS, SAA, features 66 watercolor paintings from all six New England states.
The New England Watercolor Society (NEWS) sponsors numerous shows throughout each year, but only the Biennial (Regional in odd years and North American in even) is open to nonmembers, and only acceptance to the biennial counts toward earning Signature Membership in NEWS. This is the first NEWS Biennial hosted by a Connecticut gallery in more than a decade.
Arts Center East is at 709 Hartford Turnpike. The gallery is open Thursday–Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors are required to wear masks in the building.
Arts of Tolland, 22 Tolland Green, wil host local contemporary landscape artist Blanche Serban during October.
Gallery hours are on Wednesday and Friday from 3-5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Windham Regional Arts Council (WRAC) will bring back its in-person Members Art Show at the newly re-opened Coffee Break Gallery at the East Brook Mall, 95 Storrs Road, Mansfield Center.
Stop by to see great paintings, photography, and three-dimensional works by WRAC member artists. Most pieces on display are for sale.
The show runs on weekends through Oct. 30. Hours are 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and noon-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Windsor Locks Arts Council presents the photography exhibit “Strolls Along the Windsor Locks Canal” at the Windsor Locks Public Library through Saturday, Nov. 13
There will be a “Meet the Photographers’ event at the library Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
The library is at 28 Main St.
